We
are working on a database of rescue contacts in the Boise area.
Here are the
breeds that we have information for.
If you know of a group that's not listed, please contact us.
If you want to
adopt a dog, most rescue groups will ask you to fill out
an extensive questionnaire to ensure that your
lifestyle is appropriate
for the breed that you're considering.
If you have a purebred dog that needs a home,
contact
the local
rescue person. Some of them are overwhelmed and may suggest
that you
take the dog to the Humane Society and they will step in
if necessary, but many
will find a foster home and the right
new home for your pet.
If you’re
interested in helping rescue efforts, fostering or transporting dogs
please
contact the closest rescue person for your breed.
Click here for a list of ways that you can help Rescue groups-
some involve very little investment of time or money.
If
you don't see the breed that you're interested in listed here, click
here to go to the American Kennel Club's Rescue Page. Most breeds have
national rescue organizations with contacts in nearby states. They will often
make arrangements with you for transporting a dog once it's determined that you
and the dog are a good fit.
